Neena was searching for her bangles in the cupboard,  when the Album fell down.

It would have been 25 years today, if Amit would have fought cancer.

She felt a strong chill through her spine. The air was full of his mystic scent ....

“Neena !!” a voice called from behind
  Love had conquered death

                                                         *******

Author's Note : I am not really into writing paranormal stuff, but the contest gave me an opportunity to sense another side of human existence. Hope it was not a disappointment :)  Thanks ! For reading :)
Suggestions are Welcome !

Background : The story is based on a moment where a husband fights even death to visit his wife for their 25th wedding anniversary.

  2. Interesting take. Kinda gave a hope. I liked it and there isn't much to say since the story itself is summed up in just fifty-five words, but I still believe that a story shouldn't be put in a cage of word limits. Unless you are given a mighty huge acclaim for it like Enrnest Hemingway got for the shortest story ever written.. :)... I would love to read your longer posts again. And as far as I remember, you started to write one, about yourself, starting college....

Yeah, I did start the series but I am afriad I can't publish the story, since I have submitted the same idea for a contest :( SO you need to wait :) :D

  17. Hi there, nice to see you participating in the contest. I just found out about it this morning, been hibernating as usual, and just posted my share at Sassi's.

And its not a dissappointment at all. A sweet little nostalgic piece. Nicely expressed in 55 words.

Wish you all the best :D

  22. Not bad...but maybe the execution could've been better...
"The photo frame of her husband clanged on the floor as it fell, while an eerie chill zinged down Neena’s spine.
Suddenly, a soft touch grazed her bare shoulder and an even softer pair of syllables whispered in her eardrums.
    “Neena!”
Her husband’s voice! But cancer took him away 25 years ago!
    Love conquered death?!
    "

But idea was nice.:-) Good going.....

    1. Thanks for adding a different style of narration, I know I am not such a brilliant writer. Thanks for dropping by & your valuable time. Take care!

    2. The difference between quality and brilliance is merely in the perspective sometimes. I think you're trying to get published, aren't you? Best of luck for that!!You know I was looking for someone I could get down to writing a story with....I've already done this with a couple of others in the past...And I was thinking..hey!!Why not give it a shot again?! So if you're interested...maybe you can drop me a mail @ monumentalcrankiness@gmail.com? :-) Looking frwd to a positive response from you..that is..if your busy schedule permits...S/W engineers sometimes have a precious little time to spare once their managers and clients are at their throats!!!:-D LOL...
